What is EFT Therapy?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) utilises the meridian end points of the body these are used with acupuncture and acupressure. Not uncommon is the knowledge that energy flow gets stuck in our bodies. Perhaps not widely known or related is that each traumatic event also gets lodged in the body.
Many people experience these events as feelings in the body in many forms, such as butterflies or a churning feeling, a tightness, or tension. EFT is a gentle technique that can help to resolve these feelings, memories or events in a gentle way.
Tapping on these points, helps to alleviate the symptoms and can cure phobias and anxieties immediately, and it is safe and easy to use at home.
When emotions are held within the mind and body, there can be an experience of low energy levels, depressed mood and an inability to concentrate, even with everyday tasks.
Using these techniques will enable you to move forward in life, to take control, and to reduce and eliminate symptoms. A noticeable increase in energy levels and generally a more positive outlook on life is experienced. This in turn can improve relationships with loved ones, family and friends.
EFT is both gentle and long lasting, and can benefit both physical and emotional well-being, leading to a calmer more relaxed experience of life in general.
What to expect?
What to expect from a session of EFT Therapy?
An EFT therapy session with us is like psychotherapy with tapping or waking hypnosis with tapping.
The therapist is guiding and supporting you in a professional way in the therapeutic process, using various EFT techniques, whilst you self – tap and communicate with the therapist.
The therapist will establish a psychological contact with you to support you with managing abreactions and also to enable you to produce positive changes at an unconscious deep level.
The language used in the sessions will be a hypnotic language often based on metaphors and mind images.
The sessions length varies between 50 minutes to one hour, depending on the emotional issues you might have.
An initial consultation is necessary, and a contract will be agreed between you and the therapist.
Can I Practice EFT Techniques on Myself?
Practicing EFT for yourself is a simple and effective way to quickly work on an issue. Once you know the basic technique and you are familiar with the process, you can spend a short amount of time tapping any time that it is convenient.
Deeper issues however need the attention a support given by a certified practitioner in an EFT therapy session.
